Substitute Teachers 2026-2027 School Year

The Lancaster Central School District is looking for substitute teachers for all grade levels across our seven schools.  A Bachelor's degree is required.

Regular subs are compensated at the rate of $165.00 per day.

Building-based subs are compensated at the rate of $190.00 per day.

Substitute Food Service Helper 2026/2027 School Year

Assists in the preparation and serving of food, cleans kitchen equipment, and performs related duties as required.

$16.90 per hour
Substitute Registered Professional Nurse 2026-2027 School Year

Provides assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management, and/or referrals related to the health and medical care needs of students. The goal is to minimize absences due to illness, maximize educational opportunities, and contribute to a healthy school climate. Performs other related duties as assigned.

$28.00 per hour
Substitute Teacher Aides 2026/2027 School Year

Supervises students and performs such other services as support teaching duties when such services are determined and supervised by teachers, may supervise students in workplace settings and assist with job skills development.

Social Workers Long Term Sub Positions

Core Responsibilities:
• Provide direct social/emotional support to students.
• Provide staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance/ behavior. 
• Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies as part of the Functional Behavioral Assessment process.
• Mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable the student to learn as effectively as possible in their educational program.
• Address parent concerns and provide community resources as necessary.
• Assist in developing/implementing educational programs for students with disabilities.
• Advocate for new and improved community/school service to meet the needs of students and families.
• Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities.
• Promotes collaboration among community health and mental health service providers and facilitates student access to these services.
• Deliver Counseling Services (social skills group, individual and/or family).
• Participate in Committee on Special Education Meetings.

District-Wide Cook Manager

1) Duties are directed, assigned, and supervised by the School Lunch Manager.
2) Supervises and participates in the preparation of food. Performs work in all district kitchens as assigned; prepares or assists with preparing and serving food for catering and special events; provides substitute coverage for Cook Manager absences when possible; and assesses kitchen staff as necessary.
3) Supervises the storage and care of food and supplies. Assists Cook Managers with inventory control, performs periodic physical inventory checks, and assists with compiling, placing, and receiving food orders.
4) Supervises and participates in maintaining cleaning standards for kitchens, serving areas, storage areas, dining areas, and equipment. Monitors cleaning and organization standards throughout the district, ensures proper HACCP procedures are followed, and monitors meal service. Reports kitchen equipment needs to the School Lunch Manager.
5) Performs other duties as assigned.
6) Requires travel to various district buildings.

*$25.07 per hour – LASP 2025–2026 school year rate.

ENL/ESL Teacher - 7-2-26

Overview:
The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to serve our District as an ENL/ESL teacher. We are interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We value educators who possess a willingness to design and execute instruction specific to students’ experiences and needs.

Core Responsibilities:
•     Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meets state and federal standards
•     Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with the district’s/school’s
instructional program so as to ensure that students meet and exceed learning targets
•     Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching 
techniques and strategies
•     Address all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each
student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the appropriate content area
•     Administer academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress 
in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition
•     Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and 
progress
•     Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student 
responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies
•     Adapt curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction to meet the 
needs of individual students and subgroups of students
•     Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and 
interests of students
•     Participate in planning and developing program goals, objectives, curricula, and methods
as requested
