New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS)

The NY HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program Statewide) is a New York State program that allows civil service agencies to hire qualified employees quickly without requiring a competitive civil service examination. It was created to help agencies fill critical vacancies by streamlining the appointment process. However, candidates must still meet all minimum qualifications for the position.

10 months/year & 5 hrs/day Approximate Start Date: 11/16/26

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide general clerical and administrative support to the building.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records, reports, and related documentation.
• Answer and direct telephone calls and provide assistance to staff as needed.
• Assist with filing, document organization, correspondence, and routine office functions.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, district personnel, students and parents.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling building school-related information.
