Job Description

Overview:
The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to serve our District as a Library Media Specialist. We are interested in a candidate who has the ability to work with students while effectively collaborating with the administration, faculty and staff towards the improvement of our instructional programming.

*Step 1 MA - $55,300 through Step 8 MA - $58,750 (25/26 rate) or as per LCTA Contract

 

 

Job Qualifications

New York State Certification as a Library Media Specialist

Core Responsibilities:

•Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice, current formative data and specially designed instruction.
•Develop a thorough knowledge of subject area and grade level curricula; promote competency in information literacy across the curriculum
•Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop curricular content that integrates library media and technology skills
•Collaborate with teachers, administrators and others to ensure that the full range of information resources is available to promote student learning
•Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques.
•Meet course, grade level and district performance goals.
•Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities.
•Utilize curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students being served.
•Participate in ongoing professional development and read to stay abreast of current topics in education.
•Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs and colleagues to create a positive work environment that promotes student achievement.
