The Lancaster Central School District is searching for innovative, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to serve our District as a Physical Education teacher. We are interested in candidates who have the ability to work with students while effectively collaborating with the administration, faculty and staff towards the improvement of our instructional programming.
Core Responsibilities:
• Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice, current formative data, and specially designed instruction.
•Individualize learning experiences, as appropriate, and create flexible grouping for learning experience. Observe and evaluate students’ performance in meeting grade-level standards.
• Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans, making learning targets clear for students for each lesson as appropriate.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques.
• Meet course, grade level and district performance goals.
• Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities.
• Utilize curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students being served.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and read to stay abreast of current topics in education.
• Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs and colleagues to create a positive work environment that promotes student achievement.
• Develop and utilize various curriculum resources and participate in curriculum writing/modification sessions.
*Step 1 MA - $55,300 through Step 8 MA - $58,750 (25/26 rate) or as per LCTA Contract
