Overview: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary school. Creates lesson plans, administers praise and constructive feedback, instructs students in English Language Arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health, and supports social emotional learning.
Anticipated openings for the 2025/26 school year.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualification: Must possess NYS Certification in Childhood Education (1-6). Preferred Qualifications: Possess NYS Certification in Early Childhood and Childhood Education (B-2 and 1-6) or Elementary (N-6).
Core Responsibilities: Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice and current formative data. Individualize learning experiences, as appropriate, creating flexible grouping for varied skill groups based on data and student need. Observe and evaluate students’ performance. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans, posting learning goals for each lesson as appropriate. Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary tactics. Meet course, grade-level, and district performance goals. Maintain grades and grade book (electronic). Participate in regular, ongoing professional training, and read and stay abreast of current topics in education. Work with administrators to ensure district and state initiatives are met. Develop and utilize various curriculum resources. Participate in curriculum writing/modification sessions. Utilize a curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. Create a positive educational climate for students to participate in, promoting success for students of all abilities.
