Job Description
Assistant Middle School Principal
Overview:
The Assistant Principal at Lancaster Middle School is an instructional leader who creates and maintains a positive and safe environment that promotes high standards of learning. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising building faculty and staff, and managing resources in accordance with the District’s mission, goals, and policies.
This person will provide effective evaluation and professional coaching to instructional and support staff along with developing and implementing professional learning communities.
 
Core Responsibilities:
• Ensures the effective delivery of an instructional program that meets the needs of all students.
• Provides leadership in the implementation of current programs and student achievement results and the integration of this analysis into curriculum development activities aligned with standards and school/district goals.
• Effectively supports teachers in their professional growth and development to meet the needs of their students.
• Communicates effectively with stakeholders and involves them in aspects of the school.
• Supports and promotes special activities in the building that contribute to a positive and comprehensive school experience for the school community.
• Implements systems, processes, and planning functions that are consistent with effective organizational leadership, academic achievement, climate safety, and employee/student performance.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:
A valid New York State Certification as a School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Administrator (SDA).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strength in academic leadership including best practices, curriculum management and development, assessment design, and knowledge of intervention strategies.
• Analytical skills to identify areas of need and create positive change
• Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and human relations skills.
• Knowledge of the Every Student Succeeds Act
• A minimum of seven years of successful experience in education, including teaching, supervision and/or administration
