Overview: The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to serve our District as a Social Worker. We are interested in candidates who promote and enhance the overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home, school, and community partnerships and address barriers to learning and achievement.
Qualifications: New York State Certifcation: School Social Worker
Core Responsibilities: • Provide direct social/emotional support to students. • Provide staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance/ behavior. • Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies as part of the Functional Behavioral Assessment process. • Mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable the student to learn as effectively as possible in their educational program. • Address parent concerns and provide community resources as necessary. • Assist in developing/implementing educational programs for students with disabilities. • Advocate for new and improved community/school service to meet the needs of students and families. • Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities. • Promotes collaboration among community health and mental health service providers and facilitates student access to these services. • Deliver Counseling Services (social skills group, individual and/or family). • Participate in Committee on Special Education Meetings.
