Job Description

Overview:


The Director of Instructional Technology and Accountability is responsible for supervising, managing, and coordinating all matters relating to instructional technology and data in an efficient and effective manner to facilitate the achievement of the goals of the district.
 

Core Responsibilities:


• Work collaboratively with the district office administrators, building principals, and faculty to best support the instructional needs of our students. This includes, but is not limited to, designing and generating reports for various departments, planning professional development, overseeing/managing instructional technology (i.e., hardware and software), and utilizing the Data Warehouse to support district initiatives and accountability systems (e.g., CDEP, ESSA).
• Manage and maintain the district’s student information management system including coordination with external data system support personnel to manage system software and develop resolutions.
• Serve as the district’s Chief Information Officer to develop and support procedures to ensure the accurate input of data including the submission of reports to NYSED as necessary.
• Support the district APPR plan by organizing districtwide assignments, conducting formal and informal observation of teachers, and compiling scores to be reported to NYSED.
• Lead the writing, planning, development, and implementation of the LCSD Technology Plan.
• Serve as the district’s Data Privacy Officer (DPO) to oversee implementation and enforcement of Education Law § 2-d and Part 121 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, & PPS or his/her designee.

Job Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:


• NYS Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL).
• Strong communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, interpersonal, and technology skills.
• In depth understanding (experience preferred) of how student and district data can be utilized to positively impact student learning and achievement.
• Knowledge of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). 
• Analytical skills to identify areas of need and provide solutions.
• Master’s Degree and/or study emphasizing education administration.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
